make sure the low beam circuit has juice. Trace it back - mine did them same - it was broken in the low beam to ignition circuit.

I've had the indicator assembly wear out and the low beam terminal had melted back into the plastic . Look for melted plastic in the area of the contacts on the indicator stalk as well as trace back the wiring as BIAM suggested .

I didn't have high beam the other day.... I'd accidentally yanked the main wire out of the connector where it splits to the 2 lights behind the grille... it's usually something simple

I hope you dont mind me adding a question to your thread Matt

But Cherry doesnt have any reverse lights? I have been told they are twin filament bulbs with the indicators and my indicators work fine :? Would it be wiring or a switch or something like that?

My moke had 'flakey' headlights before, they would work fine then (just when it was real dark) they would fail, had some problems with the connector between the indicator harness and main wire harness, but still played up sometimes. Ended up the earth wire was broken at the clip (plastic holding it in place) at the solinoid mouting bolt.
BTW that reminded me that I had upgraded the high beam with 100 watt halogens, relay and new positive wires, but neglected the earth wire....

madmatt, it could be the high beam switch itself. If that's dumb, don't bother saying so.

whenever this has happened with "morris" its the junction of the wires just behind the grille, in the middle.
I just move it around a bit and push at the wires and hey presto ! all good.
