5.8 litres would have it bubbling out of my gearstick inside the car!

You will need a spin-on filter head gasket and filter, also shorter studs, or just use 3/8 UNC bolts like they do on A+ motors.

I put a brick on the driveway and drive my left front wheel up on it. Driveway faces downhill a bit so it then drains out good.
Drain tray fits under fine.

I run my car onto a a couple of blocks of wood to lift it enough to get the pan under the sump. It is easier than using a jack and stands.

But I do get the jack and stands out to grease the ball-joints and give the uni-joints and exhaust mounts an inspection.
I also give the underneath a go with a can of degreaser to keep it clean.

Thanks for all the replies, I'm going to have to check my dipstick I think. To answer a few questions , It's a cartridge filter but I do have a spin on kit to fit on the next change. I get the KMX 6 Lt oil . Iv'e got a low profile floor jack to lift the motor , it only has to go up about 2 inches to get somthing under it to catch the oil.

If you have an oil cooler fitted, that will take an extra 500ml.
Still doesn't make up the difference though.
