Im going to take a wild guess at the problem, but wont actually know until i pull the thing apart. But the drive gear is stuck to the crank, so cant move.

The idler gear has no bearing on it and slides into the needle rollers which are small, so there wont be much play there.

The gearbox still moves through all its gears, and the clutch still engages.

So, im guessing third motion shaft bearing, and roller bearing and casing.

When i bought a third motion shaft bearing last time it had a slightly smaller diamter.

Can someone help me with part numbers for the third motion shaft bearing single row. and the roller bearing on the end of the shaft.

That would be the "First" Motion Shaft bearing

the primary gear is on the crank

the idler gear is next one down

the first motion shaft is the bottom one, with ther "Out-rigger" bearing on the outside with it`s outer Race nestled in the primary case

the "Third" motion shaft is the Main shaft, at the other end of the box,,, it`s bearing is the big double row bearing set into in the main gearbox web

What gearbox is it??? std early 3 syncro???
or later 4 syncro???
or Late A+ ???

there are differnt bearings to suit different boxes

Rod change 4 speed synchro iirc.

Sorry looking back at the book yes first motion.

When i bought a bearing a couple of months ago, the diamter was about 6mm smaller. So it didnt get replaced. I returned that bearing, and wasnt able to source the other at the time.
