Don't know of many 2 stroke Dukes  but the best could possibly be a Triumph (Hinkley) triple - English & good sound, plus loadsa power. Noisy cabin though, better fit some whopppin' subs

Dont you mean 1600......all the 20V Toyota Engines i know are 1.6L. Silvertop's from the AE101's and 92 Corolla Family and Blacktops from AE111's were all 1600.

If your putting one of these things in Id love to see how it fits.....cause to me theyed be WAY too big for a mini.

Id think a 4AGE would be better suited...SFA difference really in power between them.

I'm a bit of a closet Toyota nut...

All 1600cc:

4AGE 16V(early) 88kw with TVIS
4AGE 16V (late) 100kw no TVIS
4AGE 20V 115kw?? no TVIS
4AGZE 16V 125kw?? Supercharged

TVIS had two throttle bodies - small one for low rev torque, large one kicked in at higher revs for more breathing.

All look a bit big to fit in a Mini, especially the gearbox. But then a Starlet EP82 looks a bit big too....

Cheers.

I reckon the 4age's are too wide, 90cm is about the limit for engine + gearbox... I reckon the SR20 would fit better, I measured one up, but might have to be a clubman as it's pretty deep if you keep the turbo where it is - I'll build one after I'm done with the honda

Bahahaha

Oh! i had better not disclose the plans for my final mini project then....... lets just say the wheels are not going to fit inside the body...... and thats the way i'd like it

And also...... I am another person here who is guilty of spending MUCH time and money on Toyotas.... here's what i learnt...

There were many different versions of the 4A-GZE supercharged motor, the earliest version had 135hp in standard form, the latest version had 180hp in standard form. Parts from the later version wont fit on the early motors due to internal redesigning.

Here are a few interesting upgrade, using an early supercharged motor (4A-GZE), and then a naturally aspirated motor (4A-GE) as examples.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1988 & 89 Toyota MR2 - Supercharged (4A-GZE Engine)

Stock (145 hp @ 8 psi)

Stage 1: (151 hp @ 8.5 psi)
+Supercharger Exhaust System

Stage 2: (161 hp @ 8.75 psi)
+Power Flow Air Filter
+Twin Power Ignition

Stage 3: (180 hp @ 10 psi)
+Oversize Crank Pulley

Stage 4: (188 hp @ 10 psi)
+Camshafts & Cam Gears

Other upgrades:
-HKS Twincharge kit (A turbo and a supercharger on one motor) - 250 to 300 hp is to be expected.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1985 to 89 Toyota MR2 - Naturally aspirated (4A-GE Engine)

Stock (112 hp)

Stage 1: (118 hp)
+Sport Exhaust System

Stage 2: (128 hp)
+Power Flow Air Filter
+Twin Power Ignition

Stage 3: (138 hp)
+Camshafts & Cam Gears

Stage 4: (170 hp)
+Stroker Kit (Does not work for all years)

Other upgrades:
- Bolt on turbo kit from Blitz - claimed 305 hp is to be expected.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh..... and i hate to ruin the party, but there IS a 1.8 litre 16 valve Toyota motor.

Its called a 7A-FE. Is basically a 4A-GE motor with a longer stoke and different head. The internals are weaker than those in a 4A-GE, and the head doesnt flow too well. The easiest upgrade is to change the head for one off a 4A-GZE....... 10 hp can be gained just from this.

With this mod, the 7A-FE is now a hybrid motor, technically you could call it a 7A-GE.

NOW, take all the supercharger gear from the 4A-GZE, bolt it to your hybrid motor, and it can be called a 7A-GZE.

Both 7A-GE's and 7A-GZE's are combinations that were never produced by Toyota, but can be built at home.

Spent too much time and money modding Geminis and quite a bit of time and other people's money modding Toyotas.

Planning a Toyota Corona Hardtop project of my own, when I find the right bodyshell. 8)

supercharged 850,,,they were discussing the "20Valve" 1800 cc thing, not the 16valve type,,,

& i`m no toyota nut, but i have actually helped build/creat an 1800cc, 20valve toyota donk for a friend of mine at Taylor St mechanical , in Brisbane here,,,his name is Greg Craig & his work phone number is (07)3399 6469

if you`re interested in knowing how to do it

:-)

easy-peasy

& to anyone else who mentioned that the V8 mini might not turn,,,you obviously don`t know me very well hey???...i`ll make it turn, don`t you worry about that,,,everything i do in this world i do with performance handling involved :-) seriously!!!, ,,,have you ever thought about a front wheel drive yamaha R1 powered Go-Kart????????????? yeah!!!!!!! it`s a happening thing!!!!! 150hp & 70kgs added to the front of a go-kart, & then i just sit my fat 85kg ar$e on the back of it to equal things up a bit :-)

again,,,easy-peasy

:-)

True... but in SA we ge t the black top Toyota motor. 1800 RXI 20valve with a auto gearbox. Just drop the gearbox and go for manual. Change the computerbox to something like mrTurbo EFU. (SA)....

Anyway.... The Backwheel drive conversion for my rotory turbo is almost complete. Car was standing fo a year. Been working on it for 1 month everynight. Body now one with the manta suspension. Also build the firewall etc. Cut the manta dasjh and fitted that aswell.... Will fibreglass this.

Will post pics again. Was offline for a while.

Isssh - where did my avitar go?...he he
