Wanted something to practice a bit of electroplating so thought the cover strip on the Starter Motor was a good candidate

I had wired brushed about a month ago but surface rust was showing up again.

Gave it another go on the wire wheel then cleaned it with Prepsol. - left the inside to compare.

This is the Setup with a Lab Bench Supply

Current was eventually set at 500mA for 1 hour

The finished artical - not as even as I hoped but good enough - a few 'golden' streaks and some dull patches otherwise it appears to be evenly coated.
