Spent more money on it, this time new deep dish superlites with faulkens, adjustable front end and a heap of proflex poly suspension bits.

Is it only me that finds the problem I'm having somewhat.... i dunno.... against nature?

The shed is finally up and built and ready for use so I want to move the old rust bucket mini thats in the backyard, into the shed so I can begin stripping it.

This is the bit I find just wrong...

I am a chick (incase anyone didnt catch that) and I am having trouble convincing my Hubby (who I can confirm is in fact a bloke) to help me move it..... What I'm proposing here is putting a car into a shed and pulling its bits out and filling said shed with the bits and fixing up another mini..... is this not what men live for?

Its what i want to do to my mini today but I'm hitting this strange wall... its like the time he got mad at me for leaving a starter motor on the kitchen bench? Its just not natural.

as long as thiers a leg of lamb or a chock I have no troubles with a starter motor on the kitchen bench. Thier is no way I would be able to get away with it

I've had an interesting few days.
Friday, I decided to drive it to work and clean out the Hay mud at last.
Driving along watching clumps of dirt fly out and hit the other cars  I could smell tyre smoke :? The smell got stronger at lights, cleared once moving, then gradually came back. Then the usual Dunlop tyre hum was louder, so i investigated and found a clump of dirt busy rubbing through the left rear tyre inner wall. If left the tyre would have blown
Here is the Hay dirt, about 3 inches long, it was stuck in the swingarm.

Heres the tyre, minus about 2-3 mm of rubber.

Saturday was good, i took it to work to finish cleaning it 8)

Today, left to go to my Mum's place, all good, 250m later it had a steering wobble like tyre balance. Within 1 k the wobble turned into a noisy rumble and bad steering feel. I stopped and found 1 nut left on the left front wheel, hanging on by a couple of threads  I walked back and found 2 of the nuts, fitted them and borrowed one from the rear to complete the front set.

The nuts haven't (to the best of my knowledge) been touched since i raced at Hay, hopefully they just came loose and it wasn't someone being stupid

Pushed the van out of the shed, tried to start it with no luck.

Gave it a wash and a nice talking to, and then it started!

Drove up and down the driveway thinking I've got to get this car on the road again.

Tried to work on the rickety rocket but the other car called, so i spent the day introducing the minis to the new car ( they were a bit shy at first)

Sun: Put petrol in, collected two mates and drove to Castle Hill RSL to look at some grotesque American muscle cars, and there were lots of falcons-in-drag (mustangs). The winner (for me) was the orange and brown XA Falcon (cobra?) 2 door, with orange tartan and black vinyl trim! and a great period decal on the side and up over the roof. Photos will turn up sometime. 8)

Oh and the 'classy' HT Brougham. A "luxury car" with no more leg room than a standard Belmont ... go figure. :D

Yesterday I refitted my washer bottle with it's new pump, put on a new brake master cylinder cap, installed K&N Filter, removed an old aftermarket alarm, removed old rusty wiper motor bracket, but couldn't put new one in as the old screws were bonded to the little plastic clips which attach to the body.

Then spent a frustrating hour trying to undo the bolts holding the bonnet hinge/bracket at the bulhead end so that I could fit my new quick release hinges.

Had to give up as it was getting dark and I had too far to go to get it all done before dark o'clock.

Bonnet went back on, took it for a spin and i happily convinced myself of the extra oomph from the new filter, whether it was there or not :)
