Always use a socket of the correct size (i dno what size it is) and a breaker bar, never use a shifter or open end spanner otherwise you're almost guaranteed to strip it.

WD40 will not help here.

If you have already rounded the nut, file the burred edges back and then use a socket and breaker bar.

If you do strip the thread - please do not wrap plumbers tape around the thread or try to seal it with silastic. Neither will last and the bits get sucked into the oilways with disasterous results.

Use helicoils or better still - tap out a new thread.

Make sure you get a good purchase on it and wrench the bugger. As stated if the thread strips, insert it, (do a search for my previous thread on this).

Agree, never use tape to seal.

Once undone and you have a good sump thread in tact.
REPLACE WITH A NEW PLUG cheap.

Maybe you can tell it the positives ov coming undone as compared to the negatives of staying put, perhaps some cammomile tea and some fragrant oil burners may make it see the errors of its ways, if this does not work perhaps a quick check to see wich way the chi is flowing in your garage, if chi is found to be f.u.b.a.r. rotate the car 34 degrees left and rake some rocks for 10 minutes, this should get the chi flowing like creamcheese throo a straw and your mini will feel at peace and should release its hold on the sump plug with ease, if this also fails to relax the minis sphincter clench on the plug go and find the biggest piece of hollow metal tubing you have and point it at the mini menancingly, threaten and jump around alot in an attempt to scare the mini into evacuating its sump involuntairly( place drip tray under mini for this approach)If you still find the offending plug firmly in place tickle the mini just under the front stone tray, by doing this long enough the mini will roll over sticking its tyres in the air as they are very tickelish and enjoy a good scratch, while its distracted undoo the filler cap an place a bucket or similar to catch the offending oil wich now flows with the chi out of the top of the motor......an the Doc says im fine.....yeah ...right
