Guys I had my alternator fail on me. The warning light gradually got darker and darker over a few weeks. It has since died completely. Ive also thrown in a mitsubishi brand from a ford laser and a bosch from an ea falcon since and have had the same problem of no charge. They were wired up correctly. Now before I swap for a third one, is there anything I should check on the car first that could be failing or has pick and payless just sold me a couple of of duds?

Top tip,
Easy check for this is to disconnect the small wire to the back of the alternator, poke a test light into it and turn on the ignition, dash light should come on.

Is the connection at the start solenoid good?
