Early GT's had Mark 2 S blocks, the later ones had 1100S style block minus the two extra head studs.

And a small journel crank like the cooper S blocks. Someone mentioned the SS earlier, they only made 500 of those. They made 400 1275LS's (apparently) and its not clear about the Aussie clubman gt, some sources indicate around 1200 others 1500 so it's a little hard to say.

Of the above I have 2 gt's, 1 SS and a 1275LS so thats my portion of the total production

The funny thing is that even tho they made more gt's than SS's, sunshines, or LS's, the GT's are worth the most? I know that the 1275LS's kinda have the "poor mans gt" stereo type sometimes but they're a totally different car, the last harar for the aussie mini.

The SS is in my opinion one of the nicest styled of the original cars, and its modest 998 is cool. It's the only 998 I have so it's kinda special to me.

What they are worth? Well, I guess what some one will pay.

998LS about $5,000 in show room nick they made a fare few of these

SS about $6,000 to $8,500 (a fake one sold on ebay for $8,500 just recently)

1275LS $5,500 to $8,500 depending on condition and based on ebay prices from the last 6 months

Clubman GT depending on condition (I'm mean complete cars not sh!tty shells) based on recent prices over the last months $10,000 to $23,000, there was one advertised in SA for $29,000 don't know how the guy went selling it tho...

Thats my 2c

Yes but what was inside, I heard they all had 9.75:1 pistons and same HP as the S motor?

Hi doc,

I got one of these engines, the best way to think of it is as a Cooper S engine fitted into an 1100S block.

So we're talking from the top, 2X1 1/4" carbies, extra studs, MK 2 style big valve head, 9.75:1 pistons, small journel crank, MK 2 remote shift box, cooper s style 3 into 1 extractors etc etc...

Rare does not equal popular or desirable.
The rarest Australian Minis are the amongst the least desirable. (Morris Mini Minor, Morris Mini 1100, Mini 1100, etc)

They made more Clubman GTs than the combined total of SS, Sunshine, LS and 1275LS.
But the Clubman GT is worth more and is way more desirable.

Now Morris 1100 I sense a theme there with all of those rare early ones...

And NG, when that "some day" comes around and you are going to look at that 1275LS go over it with a fine tooth comb. They are well known for the rust (I have a theroy that the workers knew they'd get sacked at the end of production so they made pe pe in the paint), among other problems related to a lack of interest at the factory. They are beautiful cars, but they needed resto the minute they rolled out of the factory.

Yeah mine looks tuff that's for sure, especially with the stripes. Mmmmmm.. Nasty...

The Clubman GTs were all built at Zetland and were rotodipped. So they got primer etc up in the pillars and roof. Unlike the later Enfield built cars, which seemed to rust more towards the end of production.
IMO the 77 & 78s were worst.
Whether it was the steel specs, crap paint or workers not giving a rat's, I dunno. Their mid 70s cars were better built.

Ha ha ha I haven't heard that one in a while. There are a lot of things that are specific to the clubman gt, but there were also a few changes on the run which often leads to arguements things like the infamous GT gear knob, not all gt's were fitted with them but some will say they were till they turn blue. The best place to look was mentioned earlier, its another forum called GT spot, its run by a delightful young man whose GT featured in The Mini Expreience for a number of issues while he restored it and then after the resto he tried to sell it... but it didn't sell on ebay... and then it disapeared never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever to be evr evr ever ever seen again. Some say the Stig bought it  ... Who knows

EDIT: Doc, I stand by my original claim that the workers made pee pee in the paint and thats why they rust. But I tend to think it had something to do with the move as well. A friend of mine worked for Leyland at the time at both factories, I'll ask him for his thoughts, we'll get it straight from the horse's mouth :D
