Fair enough, I'd never tried. I run three breathers into a catch tank.

Like most people with a weber, I'm after maximum performance, so feeding hot blow-by gasses into the intake at WOT is not high on my list of things to do. For a daily driver, a decent PCV system will not only stop the oily smell at the lights, but improve the life of the engine.

I agree, if you are doing track work.
Mine is a daily driver. On track days I block the PCV to manifold off and run the vent hose, and another off the rocker cover, into a catch tank.
This is not a performance thing, I see no power gain.
If I don't disable the PCV, having the vent above the primary gear it dumps oil into the manifold at high rpm on long LH bends, eg the fish hook at Wakefield Pk. Makes like JB007.
If it was a Cooper S block with the side cover vent, I would keep the PCV connected.

So only my daily driver Cooper S with a 45 Weber should I put the PCV valve back on? I still have a vacant port on the inlet manifold with the other for the brake booster. I noticed before the 45 that if I took the oil cap off the engine stalled but now it doesn't do that. I obviously dont know enough about engines.

It won't go any better or worse with the PCV connected, but it will be less smelly. A bonus in a daily driver. 8)
If you connect it to one port only you will need to richen the idle mixture on that side of the carb by a turn or so.
