Finished putting my interior back in after fitting some underlay under the carpet ,amazing what you find when you strip them out, a few drilled holes that weren't plugged and also the guides that bolt over the handbrake cables weren't there either , all good now though.

Gave the "Snail" a quick service, I found I still hate my McNaught grease gun, given the amount of use the car get's the oil's still a good color.
I,m all ready for the Re-Con Run tomorrow ! :)
Any one else coming ?

1.
Welded a patch in Lillee's Mini K tunnel where someone had butchered it bad for a rodchange.

2.
Hung the new 1412 stroker motor on the engine stand, drained the fresh clean KMX oil out and threw it all away before pulling the reco rodchange box off it... d'oh!!
The drain tray had a bit of crap in it...
Ah well KMX is cheap.

Finished stripping bits out of the engine bay and started stripping paint off the doors and front wings. Doors are pretty much rust free, drivers side front wing has a couple of small patches of rust and more than a few dings. I've beaten a few flat and lessened a few others.. Added a few more things to the seemingly unending parts list.. sigh.....

Given the amount of times it has been have asked for people
to post pictures of their dashes......What about starting a thread just for
dash pictures?

I got the brakes working on the Cooper S today. :D :D :D

Image

They have not worked for about 13 years, the master cylinder was leaking onto the floor.
It was not a seal as I would have expected.
The circlip on the bottom of the cylinder was not there at all! I assume it rusted away! Normally the circlip will still be on the shaft of the pushrod but it was not there at all.
I guess I just swept it up with all the other dirt on the floor a long time ago.

So I just honed the cylinder and refitted the old seals till I get around the doing the whole job properly. (I just wanted the brake to work so I can move the car around the yard easier, it is not going anywhere)
