what do you have??

Clubman, hmm.
Do you really want Retro 70's?
If ya do, start by taking a look at the clothes and interior home fashions of the time 1973-1977 (I still have bad dreams more than 30 years later) and get some colour keys from what was 'IN' fashion to the general public.
Most if not all mass market cars from 1972 on were fast loosing the contrast coloured roof/body combo but kept the chrome of the previous 20 years.
Interiors were also headed towards soft tone cream/tan/brown/orange for most lighter coloured exteriors and silver/blues for the new metalic paints (silvers/light blues/and light greens). Generally speaking black cars were unheard of and usually only found on old Govt RR's or at funerals.
Red interiors were out of fashion and all black interiors were usually only found on the 'sports' variants matched with a strong paint colour (think boy-racers of the time - Chargers, Toranas, GT Falcon 500's).
They were also getting (a bit like flares on jeans) fat high body stripes around the cars 'waist'. Clubman vans were thick with wood-look 4inch wide stripes on the flanks.
If you have flared wheel arches (as most here these days seem to) they should be the same colour as the rest of the car. That way they wont look added on and will help retain the period retro look.
2 cents (from one who still remembers the 70's, and would prefer not to).
