Pulled the freshly rebuilt rodchange box off the 1412 stroker. The internals (including new 1275GT 1st motion shaft and cluster gear) are going into a Mk2 S remote casing, so it and the 1412 will drop straight into my `wasaMatic'. :P

Actually did this yesterday but I spent the afternoon block sanding putty on the body, doors and boot, then applied another coat. A couple more with some sanding and then she's off to be painted on Sunday (all going well).

More blue spray putty, going to be hot the next couple of days so I'll stick her out in the sun to bake it on, then the final block sand before primer and paint on Sunday.

Continuing on from what I posted in this thread a couple days ago:

Freshly machined drum. Although once I put them in I think they took them out 1/32" which I specifically asked them NOT to do  I have to pull one of them back off and measure them.

My brand new A+ crank turned up today as well (getting crack tested either tomorrow of Friday). It's very pretty & std/std (never been in a car).

Image

I also polished the top and bottom tanks of my new eBay radiator so it's ready to put in the car soon (photo doesn't really show it's shininess).

The best way to machine your drums is let them take out to +1/32" or +1/16" and supply oversize rebonded shoes, radius ground to suit.
If you just machine them out and use stock shoes, they will be 1/2 worn out before they are bedded in to the drum radius. Then, you will run out of adjustment early too.
