Mark - in the other thread mentioned earlier by Flute there are some measurements given. Could you please check whether yours are the same and report back? Also, could you measure the diameter of the holes (e.g. using a drill bit - Imperial measure I'm guessing).
You bet! It might take me a day or two since the car is not at my house.
I'm convinced my car is not a fake 'S'. I can't see someone putting in the effort to fake all of the 'S' details only to let the thing rust away. That said, the boot lid or skin could have been replaced at some point.
I will say that I've got over 350 hours of body work in the car and there were no signs of accident damage in the rear of the car. The front had been hit at some point and poorly repaired, as well as the driver's side door and lower rear quarter. Basically, the rear end and the top were straight, everything else needed attention.
I will post details when I get measurements.
