Get some sleep. The Mini will still be there when you get back.

mono-torque headgasket???

either way,,, sounds like the ehad has to come off if there`s water P1$$ing out between the block & the head

maybe a re-torque "could" fix it but usually it doesn`t

If the threads on the cyl-head studs/bolts have bottomed before pulling the head down enough then that`s a problem
...add some more flat washers

If there`s a dodgie head-gasket (monotorque or copper-- here we go again :-) ) then replace it

maybe there was a big piece of crap stuck under there that you didn`t see when you dropped the head on???

go get some sl;eep & fix it in the morning

concentrate on the GP and go to bed spotty

did you check the head & block was flat, does it have a new head gasket and the head studs correct length to the head

As morris said, get some sleep. its not your racecar, fix it next week.
Go to the GP and enjoy, and dont forget to wave!!
Have you got an AUSMINI sticker on the racecar?

Maybe it is something simple like stretched head studs from a wrecking yard trying to start the motor when the cylinders have been full of water.
Nothing that a new set of con-rods and a full gasket kit won't fix.
(see if you get to sleep now!)

If you have studs, make sure they are fully nipped up before you torque the nuts, otherwise they can work loose as soon as you start it up....

fixed (middle bolt was not right, replaced with correct one and shes all good)

but

im assuming my problem is incorrect carby on the motor, ive been trying to get it running with the 1.5 inch s.u that was on the 998 but it only runs with full choke and as soon as i take that off it stalls.. im going to get an hif44 but cant get one just now, am i correct in the not enough fuel statement?

Dash pot fluid?
Sucking air through the throttle shaft?
carb not sealing on the manifold?
splits in hoses?

ok so after, different carby, new manifold, new dissy cap, new plugs, leads.. i still have the same issue, i know the fuel pump is working, i know the fuel lines are all good.. ive tried two coils... and still wont run under 2500 rpm and the choke must be on, when i hit the accelerator i get a big flat drop in revvs where if i left it open it would stall..

ive got no idea

do you?

Got points? If so, check the gap- weird things happen if they close up or open up...
