Removed the Seam Covers - Quite clean underneath :D
Removed the Hood Lining and side trims.
Removed the rear Wiring Harness.

Replaced the dodgy looking strand of wire that was used for the main charging wire from the old alternator to the solenoid with a nice new fresh piece of 50amp cable. Still have red light on dash though  . Cleaned every single earth I could find on the vehicle. Went for a hoon around the 'burbs, had oodles of fun doing it, that cheered me up..

I cleaned up my freshly beed blasted doors and painted some rust converter around the seems on the insides & in the drain channel under the sliding windows. I will spray some etch primer on them tomorrow, if the weather is warm enough.

Bought a wiring loom today.... modified to suit my application (ie, tacho, thermo fan, dual parkers, fog lights and a real fuse box :) ) for just a touch over $500... 3-4weeks

slowly coming along... paint waiting in garage for weather to clear up... gonna be taking it slow, dont want to get him back on the road till at least november...

:)

Lifted the head, put in a new exhaust valve, swapped 1.5:1 rockers out for standard S rockers and bought a large cardboard box full of chocolate.

Gave the Mini K a nice new battery to replace the old way undersized and always going flat previous one. Also fitted a new indicator stalk switch and returned the wiring for the high beam switching circuit to original. (Previous Owner had wired in a second switch for high beam to get around broken switch in indicator arm). Lights now good and no more jump starts. :P

Fired up the new 1412 stroker.
Motor runs fine (I think) except the bottom radiator mount bolt is rubbing on the nice new MED competition S balancer. "screeeeeeeeeeetch".. because fitting the new belt drive kit pushed everything out by 3mm.
The lower rad bracket has a date with the reshaping division tomorrow. :P
[edit] typo

Took about three hours, (I'm a 1/4 vent virgin), to put new 1/4 vent rubbers in. What a !@#$%^ of a job

On the home run to the RWC on Monday morning, can't wait to drive it again. :)

Forgot to ask, why are you swapping out the 1.5's... was this the cause of the burnt valve :?:

I took the 1412 for its maiden voyage around the block. I've not revved it hard but the midrange ooph seems nice. :P
