Hi all that have fitted EDIS to their cars. What spark plug leads did you use? I know the length depends upon where you mount the coil pack, but I have some latitude in mounting this somewhere around the right side of the cylinder head or just in front of it on the right side (below #4 spark plug).

Trolling the Internet some say that Ford KA or Fiesta leads are a good fit.

I think someone mentioned they just shoved their old mini leads onto the coil. I personally just got the leads that came with the coil but i haven't fitted it yet.

Another option is make your own, this isn't that hard to do really and would be a lot cheaper then buying a set of ford KA or fiesta leads, as they will set you back around $100.

I'm not sure if the usual repco/autobahn etc sell lengths of leads and the necessary ends though. It's worth looking into.

Thanks for that. The coil towers on the coil pack take an unusual style lead connection that I've not seen before. If I could get the correct ends, I would modify a standard set of leads other wise I can get Ford KA leads for ~ $70, and if required shorten them.

yeah, I just shoved them on - I think it was 14 months and maybe 10 motorkhanas ago now... no sign of them coming off, and I pressure wash the motor at the car wash

Pristic did that with his, I was going through the pain of trying to find leads and he said he'd just jammed the standard ones on

Thanks Simon, looks like you have started a trend! I'll try the same with mine. From pictures I've seen on the web, It looks like the originals (EDIS) have some sort of locking clip that goes under the large ridge on each post... I'll try your method, until maybe I can find some EDIS clip things.

If your tricky you can even remove the clips, terminals and boots off the old mondeo leads and swap them onto another set, but it seems a bit of a waste of time if the standard leads jam on there!

not so much started the trend, just taken it mainstream....

I have the leads with the locking clips that came with my coil pack, I started to take them apart to make new leads, then thought "screw this, I'll do that if pushing the standard ones on doesn't work"

BTW - the coil pack is basically generic, you can use a coil pack off a few different cars, the EDIS is the little black box which is the important part...

Have just come across this "electronic ignition" setup, I'm assuming this so that we don't have cough n splutter issue when driving in the wet?
