I dissagree, i have a sprite with a 1275 a series motor in it, i have had a 45 weber on it, 'tuned on a dyno' however i am now running twin 1 3/4 su's on a custom mainfold.
what poeee said about more power is crap. they twin su's produced more BHP on the dyno than the 45 weber, however the weber had better all round driveabilty.
Clubmn, mate it's all good to discount poeee's statement about more BHP out of the twin 1" 3/4 SU's.....crap you would want to hope that they did deeming that the twin 1" 3/4's will flow twice as much airflow than a 45 Weber.............. (Weber 242Cfm vs Twin 1" 3/4 HS6 SU's 420Cfm

)
The usual standard i have seen, and which unfortuantly i have, is Twin 1 1/4 SU's, and whilst yes, they have stayed in tune, they are a terrible setup for my engine, as a 45 can flow better than the quarters all day, due to a better Cfm capability, but the big thing is the velocity (mixture ratio), which is far superior to the twins................. for example my car completley runs out of power by 5500 rpm........ 45 Weber will be arriving in the near future for me.......
