I finally put new shoes and cylinders on the front brakes. Took it for a test drive and it now stops in a straight line.

I wiggled the valves in the head to see if they had magically swelled up to fit better in the guides...... They hadn't ..........

Sigh...

Well it is a little better than having to light a fire.

Fitted new front brake pads.
New brake rotors (the old ones were so much thinner than the new ones, and one was very slightly warped)
Changed a tie rod end (it was so stuffed, I feel stupid for not noticing it earlier)
New rear wheel cylinders (one was leaky)
Bled the brakes.
Fitted new tie bar rubbers.
Was going to do the lower control arm rubbers too but ran out of time.

Today I,

Put a rubber strip in the bonnet channel....it cut down so many vibrations.
Went and bought new bolts for the drive flange and put them in.
Replaced the lower control arm rubbers. It is amazing how it changes the feel of the car.
Changed the upper steering column bush and fixed up the horn so that it works.
Cleans the inside.

Took it for a spin.

Ryan

Ryan, did it just cut vibration at idle or throughout the rev range? Did you get rubber from Clark Rubber, if so can you remember what dimensions?

Cheers

Jim :D
