Hi everyone,
just bought a 45DCOE weber and was hoping for some assistance with starting to set it up somewhat close enough to drive with. i will end up having it tuned on a rolling road but wanted to play as much as i can to learn how it all works.
1098 bored to 1220
flat top imp pistons
731 cam timed in at 108 ATDC
10:1 compression
12G295 head
medium LCB with RC40
i have two different manifolds so will work out which one suits best once i trial fit it all up, may even buy another manifold yet
my questions are with regards to initial setup. i have been reading heaps of books and plenty on the web about setting it all up, but i am hoping everyone with experience with a weber may flick some advice my way.
when i get the carb i will asses what it has fitted and buy what i think it will need for a beginning setting. of course i will give the carb a freshen up and strip and clean etc.
i dont expect to get the setup spot on, but am optimistic in trying to tune the carb as close as i can myself. you only learn this way in my opinion
any tips or what not to do's for webers?
i have a listing from weber for a possible starting guideline.
it is listed as a 998 with mild cam, as close as i will find i think?
32mm chokes
5.0 sec venturi
1.30 main jet
F9 emulsion tube
1.65 air jet
45F9 idle jet
.50 pump jet
does this sound like the right direction? or should i start with a 34mm choke?
your advice is greatly appreciated
jason
