So you are using the standard slave that came with the Starlet engine? 3/4" slave?

Yeee Haa
Had the engineer back today to check over everything.
OMG he was more excited than me, we went over the car for about
two hours and he's extremely pleased with everthing.

So now the fun part begins, swapping everthing over to the good shell.

Still a lot of work involved, need to paint everything, cut the inner gaurds,
fit everything up.

Then it goes for brake and noise tests and then he signs her off

He had a huge grin and said he cant wait to drive it for the tests,so there
is gunna be quite a few nights in the shed

Congrats so much, Hallsey!

You've done it the right way IMO. Mine would have been so much easier and neater the 2nd time around!

Good luck, I'll have to come around again one day so we can go for another drive up arthur's seat! :D

Awesome work there Hallsey.

I'm thinking the only way my stuff will get done is if I take time off to do it as well. Good luck with it all, it's looking great!

Hallsey,

Well done Ol' Sock!

Now, tell me you are going to paint or powdercoat that subframe before it goes into Simply Red??

Cheers,
Tricky

G'day Tricky ol'son
Dont you like the rustic look ? :D

The subframe will be painted, hopefully in the next couple of weeks

I've been busy doing all the fiddly things

Been putting nutserts in, mainly in the engine bay, mostly brake line
brackets

Image

Cut the holes for the shift cables and wiring

Image

Fitted the airbox

Image

The engineer wanted all the sharp edges gone from when i
cut all the inner gaurds.
So some 6mm rod bent into shape then welded into place

Image

Heres a photo(not a very good one  ) with the rod
in place on the front panel.
This is from the engine bay looking out the front

Image

The same spot from the top. this is the cutout for the radiator

Top work mate. Frank has recommended that to me several times, "Just put some rod on there to strengthen the edge and I'll be happy with it", I have done it on the back of the subframe, and will do it on panel edges as well.

I finally cracked it with the Valiant situation on the weekend and went in to the shed for some quality Morris time, got most of the fuel lines run in a productive few hours. Decided to just and crack on with it when work allows (and ignore the other cars), hopefully will have it running for xmas.
