what do you mean by "Sprint" - as in club racetrack sprints? go to www.camsmanual.com.au

club sprints are usually fairly open, but if you stick with off the shelf stuff you're safe

I thought he meant street sprints like they do at Lakeside. If that is the case then I think you can basically do what you want as long as they scrutineer it as being safe.

Probably makes more sense to do it to group N regs though, it either gives you more opportunities for using it or gives you some value for resale if you have enough of it.

and being a Mini K you'd be looking at Nc class which gives you more freedoms than Nb. Grab a current CAMS manual.

As has been said, you have a fair degree of freedom, no need to comply with the Group N requirements, eg can run polycarb instead of glass (except for windscreen). However, roll cage, seat mounts, harness mounts, fire extinguisher, oil catch can etc are best made to comply with CAMS requirements, which can be found in the Manual. Can run 1380 or 1430 no problems.

yep, provided it is sound, mechanically and bodywise, and it passes scrutineering. Read (and understand) the Regulations and any Supplementary Regs for the event you intend to enter, and follow them.

for a sprint, it can be a standard road car - no need for a cage, race seat, belts etc. - it's accessible low budget motorsport...

a safe road car with a fire extinguisher, and you with a helmet
