I went through on Wednesday and Thursday and someone / something had deposited quite a LOT of sand, but only on the hair pins....well, seems it's gone now, I have another few trips this week :)

what a place to put sand..had the Alternator looked at today.. Diode and possible Voltage reg but I did find a good Auto Lecky. Solderd the end of three Go Peddle cables and chose the best 1.
Found you can polish 2 pack paint 8)

After 2 hard years of being thrashed the mokes 1275 needs a rebuild. she got less than 4 oil pressure at a warm temperature. She will probably get a bore out to 1293 and a qauiffe.

BUGGERBUGGERBUGGERBUGGER

We brought a double bed mattress up from Brissy last night on the roof of the Avalon and got home just as it started to rain- In my hurry to get it inside though the garage I wasn't looking where it was going and collected the Mini doors hanging from the rafters. The one with the new door skin came down and landed on its corner bending the lip back and putting a dent in the bottom of the door bin

Got an exhaust bung welded on my exhaust pipe, for my Bosch wideband O2 sensor at Werribee Exhausts. Cost only $25! Bargain. :D

Needed 1 brush for a Clubby wiper motor I'm fixing for an ausmini member (brush was broken).
I can still get new ones via the local auto leccy, it's $30 for the 3 aftermarket brushes and $15 for the freight, ta very much.:?
So I went down the road and bought 1/2 a s/h wiper motor for $10.:P
Hope there's 1 good brush in there...
[edit] Yes there's 2! 8)

I welded one on ages ago for a normal sensor, and went to put the wideband in it and the thread was OK, but the hole I'd drilled in the exhaust was too small - d'oh!

I asked the guy to fit it to my sensor; he was making the hole to fit an standard O2 sensor which had a smaller sensor head. Just as well I asked! :)

1. Replaced top radiator hose... see I do listen to you Mick!
2. Changed dashpot ATF oil to 20w50 to help with lean out on acceleration.
3. Connected up Tech Edge wideband and went for a short mapping run.

AFR now reads steady at idle since putting sensor in exhaust bung compared to tailpipe sniffer. Trouble is AFR is going wrong way upon acceleration. WTF?

Here is an extract of log:

Any ideas, what have I missed? Car drives OK.

My Wipers stopped working on the way to work this morning.

So, I pulled the cover off the wiper motor to find a lot of gunky/hard grease built up in there. I didn't want to remove the whole thing for a full rebuild, so i cleaned out as much of the gunk as I could. Then put some clean grease in there. Fixed

Gave them a short run to work the grease through it. Opened it up again, removed all the grease again because more gunk had been dislodged. Cleaned it up again, cleaned all the contacts. Re-greased, sealed it up and now it runs very well. A lot faster than before. :D :D :D :D

Removed door skin, started marking up hinge and latch holes on replacement skin I made recently. Challenging but rewarding!
