Reached the doors in my build project today. :D

Everything is on the edge of being seriously knackered.

Is there anywhere I can buy:

- external door handle
- lock assembly
- inner door handle
- lock
- window winding assembly

for both doors?

- external door handle - NLA new, try ebay, they come up often.

- lock assembly - as in the barrel? These are available new, I think Mini's Plus has them.

If you mean the body lock assembly, these are also NLA, however, with a very small modification, it appears the late english ones are the same, mind you I haven't done this so I'm not 100% sure on it.

- inner door handle - NLA, however I am told late MGB were similar and only require minor modification to get them the same.

- lock - refer above.

- window winding assembly - John at Mini King has some new LH ones (although these are usually OK). RH is NLA new, but ask John. I referish mine, it's only the pressed steel 'bearing' on the shaft for the handle that wears (usually). I fit them with a small 'plumber block' style bearing, over the top, but it's cheap and easy.

GT mowog is correct, The MG handles are basicaly the same, you just have to remove the spot welded plates and a rod from them, i have purchased some for one of my minis (i havnt got round to modifying them yet- but it's not as hard job).

See these as for what we mean:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NOS-BMC- ... 5196be81fa

Or some second hand ones:

But i have trouble understanding how EVERYTHING could be wrecked? Maybe if it had been left in the weather and the door itself was wrecked aswell. Surely you wouldnt have to replace everything?

Thanks for the advice...

What do you mean by:

"I fit them with a small 'plumber block' style bearing, over the top, but it's cheap and easy."?

Any photos or instructions?

This is the style plumber block (although here it is refered to as a flange bearing);

But, you'll want them in 1/2" (from memory).

Sorry, no pics, there all behind the door cards now!

I'd be interested in any information that is available regarding this.....

Maybe some kind soul, like Josh from Mini Imports could shed some light?

Mike,

I have two sets of winding mechanisms, but one pair have no springs attached. They are in excellent condition and have also been gold passivated. You can have the pair if you find the springs.

Come up this weekend if you want and we can rummage through my box of "door parts" and see what I have since I stripped TWO Minis.
