So just in case the floor gives out your bum doesn't drag on the ground??

Finished insulating/soundproofing the rest of the car, now I know what it feels like inside a glitter ball.... 8)

You'll need a pair of those.

Nice work on the sound proofing though, looks very neat
How heat/flame retardant is the material though, since its underbonnet?

My cousin has used the exact same stuff as insulation and sound deadening under the engine covers for his boat without problem for a while now so I figured if it can survive under those conditions without much airflow then under the bonnet of a mini where there is some, wouldn't be a problem.. But if you like I'll go and torch some.

Naked flame test results:

In summary I can conclude that by holding a lit match to the foil the rubber backing did melt some but did not ignite. Open flame applied directly to the backing did cause it to ignite but the flames extinguished themselves. I'll try a radiant heat test tomorrow as it's too dark now and my drugs have kicked in....

You asked for it.......

Please note, no Minis were harmed during this test...
Also please do not try to recreate this at home, I come from a long line of Pyromaniacs and know what I'm doing..

Insulation fire proofing test

Hope this answers your questions.

Hetty had bit of a flutter/stumble on acceleration from idle so I set about fixing it today. I had been running ATF in the pot and that wasn't working so I tried a couple of different weights of fork oil I had 10w and 15w. They didn't work so I ended up trying engine oil which fixed the problem instantly.. Much more driveable.
