my saga of my mini having the sh!ts with me is continuing

on Sunday I took my alternator off to find the mouse hiding in it (squeaks)

on Monday I reconditioned the alternator by cleaning the slip rings, fitting new bearings, sandblasting and iriditing the body... looks nice

Monday night I went to put it back on, and my fanbelt split, and I also discovered that the blower pulley has been contacting the bracket I made for my hydro pipes

Yesterday I hunted around (5 shops!) and bought a new fan belt (turns out my belt only suits a Chrysler Neon/PT Cruiser - ewww!)

Last night I removed the blower and discovered that
1. The carb side manifold had been grinding on the lip for the speedo cutout, so I need to weld it up again and bend the lip out of the way
2. The bottom mount bolt for the blower was missing
3. The bottom front radiator shroud screw was also missing!
4. One of my belt idlers is sounding quite second-hand

And I used those little tiny cutting disks on my dremel to cut a chunk out of the hydro pipe bracket

I buy reinforced discs for mine and they last heaps longer. You can tell because you only get 5 in pack compared with 25

Let me know simon if you'd like a genuine chrysler belt for your mini!

Has to be some advantage of working for a chrysler dealer!

I had a few spare hours on my lunch break today, so I:

Threw some subframes in the moke
Did the brake lines
Ran fuel lines
Did the drive shafts
Put the disc brakes on the front.
Sorted rear brakes
Bolted on rear adjustable camber brackets
Changed all the donuts and installed (read modified to fit) hi-los
Put new shocks on each corner
Sorted adj. suspension for the front
Did some wiring
Changed bulbs for the speedo
Did new leads/plugs for the clubman, gave it a tune. Millionaire 998 ran like a pig again within 10minutes - awesome.
Installed new master cylinders

Delivered the project body over to the paint shop in the Shire.
Finally!
Now to concentrate on the engine gearbox and subframes
