When I pulled the Cooper S apart I thought I would have a big problem with the LCB's that I fitted in 1981.
I found that after squirt of Penetrene and a bit of heat with the heat gun then another squirt of Penetrene they just fell apart!
If I had known they were going to be that easy I wouldn't have undone them from the head.

Be VERY careful.. Has the LCB been used before - is it "assembled"??

If its a Maniflow, and the Y piece is attached to the down pipes, you WILL NOT be able to install it with the engine in the car. You can't even do it with the engine sitting in a bare subframe BTDT....

smac has the solution. Tie the upper end of the manifold using some string around the wiper spindles....

Cheers, Ian

Put a bit of hi temp copper grease in the slip jont of the Y piece. It will help heaps when you have to pull it apart.

We used to use that stuff on furnace parts that had 1000 deg C 24/7 and never got anything stuck.

cheers

Fumes from that would be toxic, that's why copper for exhaust pipes is illegal.

"Inhaled: An unlikely route at normal temperatures.
At elevated temperatures, vapours or mists
may cause irritation, headache, dizziness
and nausea.
Inhalation exposure of combustion products
(such as copper oxide fume) may cause metal
fume fever, characterised by flu-like
symptoms and metallic taste in the mouth,
fever, chills, cough, weakness, chest pain,
muscle pain and increased white blood cell
count. Onset of symptoms may be delayed for
several hours."
