Filled the new engine up with oil and then tried to turn it over by connecting a battery to the starter motor but discovered the new starter is tight and wont turn  :? :(
Lucky I checked prior to taking engine over to GR.
The starter motor might just need adjusting, will pull it out tommorrow night and investigate.

Pulled the engine out yesterdy, first time i've pulled engine out this way, i have only lifted the body off engine and subframe previously. Went quite well, caught on bits a couple times but pretty straight forward.

Now to tart up the engine bay.

I am going to grind off the dodgy plate someone has welded on just below the brake and clutch master cylinders. (it held brake/clutch lines and engine steady i think)

Does anyone know if this is something i can purchase to replace? or is it something i need to fabricate?

Can you provide a photo?
There is a plate which is spot welded on at this point,
