Hi Everyone, when I start modifying the brake lines on my mini, a lot of the tube benders are for 1/4, 5/16 and 3/8 lines. now I can`t see a problem with it but I just want to comfirm that as the mini`s lines are 3/16, is it ok to use a 1/4 bender ?

I'll say a cautious maybe. If the actual radius that the bender makes is small (at a guess, I'd say smaller that about 40 mm), then I'd say no.

A nice bender, the correct size that will do the job is less than 30 bucks, so why not get one?

Hi GT, there is none in Bundaberg, looked on ebay and saw one for $37 but that one did 1/4, 5/16 and 3/8, that is why I asked the question. Now I have finished an around the house job ( kept the other half happy ) I want to start putting all the stuff I have bought for the mini on the car. Hoping to do booster connection first ( re routing brake lines etc ). I will have another look around and see if I can get a 3/16 bender.

The size of tube you want to bend is 3/16 internal diameter?? If so that should equate to about a 1/4 external diameter, thus you could used one of those benders. When they sell tube benders they go by the outside diameter of the material and when places sell Bundy tube the sell it by the internal diameter... It can be confusing!

Hi wobbles_55, yes I know what you mean on tube sizes, but mine is 3/16 OD as I had already measured my brake lines.

Thanks GT, I`m having a final look around Bundaberg tomorrow. If I can`t get one, I quite like the look of the last bender you put up for me from vek tools so I will order that one.

many thanks
