If you haven't sorted a spin on filter yet, Ive been gearing up to make some filter mounts that fit a Z9 and mount to the standard mounting points and oil pathways.
The benefit is the Z9 has the relief valve in the filter, is cheaper (as its used on just about every falcon) and most importantly to me at least there are much higher quality performance ones available if you so desire.

Interested. :D

My father has done that on both of his Austin A40's (pre BMC ones, so not the a series engined A40 Farina's).

Is there enough room for them in a Mini when mounted in the normal spot?

[quote="Rodney"]Well.......here we are......back to this thread........FINALLY ready to rebuild my engine and get Ribena back on the road.

Rodney, suggest you take a photo to post here to ask the guys about the engine stand mount points. Hopefully getting the new hole drilled in the plate tonight.

Yep.......sorry Bob.......our computer has been having the hic-cups and causing some stress. Anyway, back to it.

Ok folks, I intend on taking up MiniBob's kind offer the use of his engine stand. Just want to check what holes I should use to bolt the block to the engine stand.

I think.....three points........1) the oil pressure relief valve hole, 2) the alternator bracket hole/s and 3) one of the two holes for the oil filter.

I am taking the block to another engineer too.......the one that did all of the work for me forgot to remove the two plugs and clean out the oil gallery that runs the length of the engine, then put in new ones.

Here's the engine.......

So, I think that by getting some new hi-tensile bolts into the three holes I've mentioned above, will be fine.

Your thoughts please :)

Mine bolts to both alternator bracket holes and one oil filter hole. That's plenty, no more needed.

Doc. So just to make sure please, in Rod's pic above, will be using both holes where the stud is shown and one of the holes just above left (looking at the 'photo landscape).

The bolt/stud is in one of the oil filter holes, I use that one.
And I use the 2 bossed holes 1/2 way along the block (turn pic clockwise 90°) these are for the generator or alternator bracket.

it doesn't really matter, as long as you use 3 bolts...
