thanks gaf,

thanks for the pics and the hints on the clock and anti for rich/lean.

so by 'how you've connected the hoses' you mean 'the' hose?

it seems you've got your fuel in and the other two venting?

i'm already in love with the HIF just by holding it, the butterfly spring return built in, the piston lift button, the adjusting screws..

SOOOO looking forward to getting my car set up right.

Well you could say three actual.
Fuel In, Over Flow which in that photo is not attached witch is normally just a a hose hanging under the car and also you will notice in front of the carb near the dash pot a small breather which can be connected to the dizzy (Vacuum advance) but best to blank it as I have in the first pic

With some cars it was impossible to get your hand to the lifting pin so they left it off! :D

When I fitted a HIF38 to the Moke I connected the fuel line to 8 (the overflow) and wondered why the heck it wouldn't run.

Not wanting to hijack, but has anyone hooked up a HIF44 to an Auto 1275? I have one so I wouldn't mind giving it a try. I haven't figured out he kickdown lnkage yet though.

Hi Gafmo,

don't you have the engine breather hose connected to the top pipe in the carb ? if not i would block it off.. just sucking air from there. Mine runs better with the pipe blocked.

Cheers
Luis
