You must make sure you only suck the gunk into the catch can & not into the pump, otherwise the seals won't last either.

If you're a skinny bugger like me,

1. Crack the bleeder and put a ring spanner on it so it can swing the nipple both open and closed.

2. Fill the resivour.

3. Open the door, pump the clutch pedal and hold it down.

4. Reach around and open then close the bleed nipple while holding the pedal down.

5. Repeat 1 - 4 till the pedal is good

I don't see how this one person thing works at all (without opening/closing bleed, removing windscreen, crushing yourself in door etc etc).

You push the pedal, bubbles and fluid go out the tube, you release, bubbles and fluid get sucked back in. Been there, done that.

Save yourself the heart ache and wait for someone else to help.

Done the solo bleed many times. If you watch and feel it out, it works no dramas. If you pump away like a madman, well, then

Cheers

If you fill the MC, put a bit of tube on the nipple and into a container on the floor, give 1 or 2 pumps and it will gravity bleed.
Have a beer, then close the nipple... 8)

If you are unable to reach around to do the nipple up after pumping, stand outside the car, and with a broom, push the pedal whilst you operate the nipple.

And also, if you have fluid actually being pumped around, if you "drop" the clutch it will force air back up to the top of the system, thereby leaving the system. So in some cases, pumping like a madman does work :D
