ran it into the ground after coming off a speed bump at 30 km/h
Being an auto the sump is a bit closer to the ground.
I have warped the radiator shroud and eaten about 1.2cm of plastic off each blade... I am not sure what else is wrong.

Finally fitted my dash that I bought about 6 weeks ago.

A lot of mucking around with the wiring and I have accidentally wired my clock to the ignition instead of battery. Guess I have to take the dash out again.

joy

Fitted the last brake line, fitted the fuel lines and connected the cables to the carby and then started the engine in the car for the 1st time :)

I had a fuel bowl fill valve start to leak. Its odd as it is only a couple of years old and low in K's.

Changed it out with a 40,000 year old one from a spare carb until I can get a pair of new ones for the twin SUs. If one is bad, the other one might be ready to go out in sympathy as well.....

Sure it isn't just a bit of varnish on the needle? When the petrol evaporates it can leave a layer of crap behind.

Well there's a coincidence! One of mine did that the other day too. Have yet to pull it off to investigate...

The last time it got a tank was in Point Cook...maybe the fuel is nasty around that side of town... :P

I gave it a good clean and tried to refit it. From what I could see there was wear on the taper, but I might be wrong. The fuel was bucketing out... and the best part is it falls directly onto the exhaust!

Can't be the fuel, unless my filter isn't

For all I know, mine could be a fractured hose on that carb -- it started to smell as I got close to home on one of the HOT days recently, and when I pulled into the garage I popped the bonnet and there was fuel everywhere on that side. It's still like that waiting for me

Stripped a 4spd remote synchro gearbox. Good clean before rebuild.
