Went for the third drive in the MIni-Matic after replacing the head.
It is still running very hot so I am not sure what to do next.

Dr Mini what are your thoughts about retensioning the head?

I think I will have to go for a new radiator and a 2 blade fan?

But Sugsr is running and seems to be strong.

Just have to sort out the too hot problem.

I'd get the radiator reconditioned, and check the ignition timing.
Too much advance or retard can make it run hot.
Standard 16 blade steel fan should be fine- I have one and it cools my 1360 OK with 120+ HP.
Also check the gauge is reading right.

Retighten the head when hot and readjust the rockers.

Is the MiniMatic heater installed and working (not clogged?)

I welded up the sill, a few pin holes in the floor and the odd brake line tab thingy of the 850 shell. Then I welded up a few holes in my exhaust manifold. Geez a MIG with gas is SO much better than gasless for these jobs, no chipping away at flux between welds and no included spattery welds. So much easier to fill holes.

Shame I have to give it back next weekend.

Won't be achieving much for the next few weeks. Hernia surgery tomorrow. Ouch.

Its was the Tacho lead, a dodgy fuse and a dumb arse connecting up the new points

Got to get a plug for the Minispares manifold yet. The oily rag keeps on blowing out.

No exhaust on yet and it'll only run with me on the throttle for a few seconds. I think the timing might be out as it sounds like a top fuel dragster on 2 cylinders so still a bit to do before I'm back on the road.

fixed head stud, forgot that coolant was still in engine/radiator, proceeded to loosen up head studs to replace blah blah.... coolant in bores (bugga!) replaced head stud and adjusted new roller tip rockers.... changed oil (looked like melted chocolate ice cream with that much water in it) Cleaned up spark plugs at Marls place and Sanchez is now a happy little moke once again :)

Fixing the small rusty bits around the door hinges of the Clubman
Cut some rust out from the A panel
Pity about the humidity as the fresh metal rusts so quick :(

Helped to sort out the timing of the engine. The Megajolt had an incorrect setting since the Dyno day when we were trying different options and added -5deg to the whole map.
All good now and should have the car home on Saturday

Front and rear sub frames bolt straight on to the middle frame. Just need to find a central tunnel (or make one), make a floor pan, mount the shocks, wheel arches, steering column and pedal box. Then the next step is making the braking system, fuel, battery and wiring.

Looks good, is that an average sort of price or did you get a good deal? I'd like to get this done to keep the clubby a little cooler :)
