Hey all,

I'm looking at fitting an A+ 1275 block/crank to replace a damaged A series block, I'm gonna just fit the remote gearbox, pre-verto clutch and head from A series, which I still have.
Will it swap ok or are there any issues with doing this?

Thanks,
Richard.

Sometimes the rear No. 3 Main Bearing Cap bolt might just kiss the the Gearbox, not always, but check. Do a trial assembly without gaskets and the half moon seal first.

Your old dissy won't swap straight over. You'll need to change the drive dog and shorten the shaft a whisker, or get an A+ dissy.

Good point. Any UK Dipstick (A or A+) up to about 96 works. The Ozzy made flat ones won't.

They go straight into the block, there is no guide tube.

[edit] you can make an early round one fit, but the stop washer isn't in quite the right spot (I can't remember if too high or low).
