Now housesitting at the same location as the mini, I came home from work after stopping by TheMiniMan and pulled out the rear windscreen and took of the wheels so I can get new tyres and get the rims powdercoated!

Didn't actually need it - it needed a jump straight onto the starter motor. But I took 2 1/2 year old Charlie for a drive around the block, the first time the Estate has gone in 12 months. So delighted!

Plus more woodwork.

I took my mate for a spin in the gold coast convention centre carpark. He was gushing about how direct the steering was, how it drifts a bit around the corners etc. I don't think I have converted him yet, as he drives a Audi RS4 but I will keep trying.

Did a huge leery power slide in the rain coming home too! Man, this motor has some grunt in 3rd gear. Big thumbs up to Matt Read for the tune up

Went to pick n payless to search for some struts. Upon finding a few different types, the best combination was put together and I made up my bonnet strut conversion.

Also went and popped in at GR to see how my motor is coming along. Cant wait for that stroker goodness!

Tipped the molasses out of the 1100S block + head (it's been in 2 weeks), hosed it all out and refilled with 1:3 molasses:water mix.
It's coming along well, 90% of the rust is gone but another week won't hurt.

Installed some new extractors and attempted to change my steering rack in the rain.. I lost the battle for the steering rack :/

I could not drop the rear of the sub frame to take the rack out.

I might of broken the joints that connect to the steering rack and the wheel :(
does anyone know how to re grease these?

Need to undo the top tower bolts, subby to floor mounts, and loosen the front teardrop mounts.
Oh and remove the shock absorbers... and the exhaust pipe..

Read the Haynes manual, you do have one I hope!
It's a Rover auto, so I've probably forgotten stuff.. I've only worked on Oz Minis.
