I have a Kmac bar from the 70's which fits under the scews which hold the bumps stops onto the top of the swing arms.
On a seperate question, I am interested in fitting a front and rear sway bar to my latest project and am interested to know whats available? I guess I will need to look to the UK as I cant imagine any Aussie ones still available?

I just fitted a front and rear bar to my mini - custom made locally by Signature Sway Bars by Don Selby of Selby Suspension fame and his Son - reasonable pricing too. Around ~$270ea fitted. I had mine custom made to go under my dump pipe and subframe for the 4EFTE.

I'm sure they could supply the links.

Made a massive difference to body roll.

Located in South Nowra.

I've had one on mine for years
I guess I'm used to it and have now come to expect minimal body roll with a bit of oversteer :)

I get by quite well with comp hydro bumpstops on the rear, and a set of shocks on the front.
These bumpstops (Aeon springs) increase the spring rate on the outer rear wheel when cornering, much as a roll bar does.

er... well... um.... thanks for the replies.

Not really after advice on whether it works or not. Just the asking about procuring the locating links.

Has anyone actually fitted a Whiteline rear swaybar to the rear a Hydro Mini?

Ive got an agent for Whiteline chasing it up but i thought i might not be Robinson Cursoe......

If and when i get it on, I'll let you know if it works or not.

Cheers.

Hi Haydn, My Cooper S is hydro with a KMAC rear sway bar. If I remember I will take some photos tonight and show you the connection point onto the top of the rear swing arm.

that's the part he's looking for...

I believe they go to the spring lugs

edit: maybe not, this one looks like it goes on the brake backing plate bolts

Woo! Lots of pictures there Simon...

Poeee, Im pretty sure it locates on the helper spring mount. I just need the 2 bits (links) that come off there and then go into the hole on each end of the bar.

I had one on my old yellow moke but it was dry suss of course, but it did work a treat. Really made the front bite under load.

I'll keep searching.

Cheers.

H

Call the guys i posted above - they designed the whiteline swaybar (whiteline brought all the jigs of them when they first started) - they will be able to sell you the linkage and post it to you and they are cheap.

Whiteline has passed through a few hands now and are more interested in the modern jap stuff - also most of their production has gone to China.
