Put it on TDC and measure the stroke.
76.2mm = a 998
83.7mm = a 1098.

Oilstoned my block and head, put new head gasket on. Fiddled with the dissy and the solenoid, Made sure the torque setting on everything and i mean EVERYTHING where right then gave them a bit more for good measure :wink: Motor ready to go in tommorow. Still deciding if i should send my right hand tank off to get profesionaly treated or just buy the POR15 kit and do it myself.

Opinions?

So you made everything right, then made it wrong?

Carter,
Better test your torque wrench, many of the clicky shiny ones are hopelessly out. By 10/ft/lb or more. :lol:

Trust me doc this one is good. Its my grandfathers old warren and brown torque wrench. Had a few hundred spent on it a few years back getting it all recalibrated to make sure it was right :D
Adam, i like to have piece of mind that everything is tight especially how last time it was done wrong and things where to loose...

There's no room in your carport! I've seen it!

What I really need is someone to do burnouts, collect a numerous speeding tickets through intersections on two wheels. Are you up for it?

Yeah that wrench is good, I have one too.
Tighter is NOT better. If you exceed the elastic limit of the bolt or stud, it's toasted. :roll:
They list torque settings for a reason... :wink:

[edit] What did I do today? Drilled out a pair of hydro top arms to take shock bolts. They are going in the hydro van.
Geez they are tough stuff, I'm glad I didn't have to drill by hand!

Took the fuel tank out of the Moke today. It is a custom one but when I made it I used the level sender out of the donor car as it is attached to the EFI pump bracket. Trouble is the resistance doesn't match the guage so it never reads right. I thought at the time I would be able to overcome the issue but electrickery and me don't see eye to eye.

I'm going to modify a mini unit and install it.

While the tank is out I'm going to re-plumb the hoses so I can mount the Facet in the rear subframe instead of the engine bay.

Went for a drive down MonaVale road and back :twisted:
Luv the Supercharger
Just need to sort out the fuel build up when stopped at the lights, at the moment I find a couple of blips of the throttle before I take off seems to burn off the excess fuel and prevents the engine from bogging down .

It didn't even have the moke in it when you saw it!

Put the moke sideways with the clubby along the wall
1100 against the other wall and your cooper S keeping the oil slick warm

I can see it now
