I've tuned Alfas (I was into Alfas and Fiat twincams) and you are right, BUT that doesn't apply with 1x 45 Weber with BIG chokes (for HP) on a 5 port 1275-1400cc A series though. Totally different kettle of fish.
Leave Alfa's std air correctors & emulsion tubes in, and your A series won't hardly run.
Your Alfas have ony 32mm chokes is a 40 carb (usually) and their cylinders are way bigger. So yeah, you can nail em off the line- where's the top end though.
If you are going to choke a 45 Weber down so far it runs nice down low on a road Mini you may as well fit an SU or 2, and get MORE HP.
