I got a fuel pump blanking plate drilled small holes and brazed a breather at an angle to clear extractors and plugs up the same as above. This was information i received from matt read it worked really well.

Mine run fine off the rocker cover. One has a sealed filler cap, the other an S (breather) cap, makes no difference.
You can plumb the PCV valve into the manifold with SUs, or run a hose to the SU's vac port (without a valve) if it has this port. You can easily drill and fit one if the carb doesn't have it...
I found putting them on the fuel pump flange doesn't work (LOTS of oil from crank & rods over 4500 rpm) and on the flywheel housing is NFG on long LH bends at high rpm (lots of oil from primary gear).

Also sorry of the thread hi-jack

It needs to be blocked off.
I use a bearing plate from a steering rack, just slot the holes a little and it's the right size and shape.

Like this- (you can add the pipe to the rocker cover if you want, it just equalizes crankcase pressure top to bottom).

Ah makes sense now. what are the fittings you are using also which way round does the PCV valve go

arrow away from the manifold or to the manifold

Ta

The fittings are just push fit airline fittings (my local bearing shop sells them), threads are 1/4 BSP, the tube is 12mm OD nylon.
On the PCV013 valve there is a shiny radius on one end of the body- this goes to the manifold.
If there is an arrow (flow direction) on yours it goes TO the manifold,.

Yep, but If I had one there I'd hook that to the PCV valve, not the rocker cover. But I don't (I have belt drive cam kit), and room is tight there anyway in an Oz roundy.

To connect the hose to the inlet manifold, did you need to drill a whole and tap the manifold ? What type of connector or brass eblow and size did you use ?

I've just added a breather to a new alloy rocker cover. Since the brass fitting is taper (supercheap..) I just drilled slightly bigger than the small end of the taper, and cranked it in there with some locktight. Don't know if the brass cut the alloy, or the alloy mangled the brass thread, don't care, it's tight and doesn't leak

If anyone would like to know how much oil a racy 1380 will spew out the flywheel breather and dipstick hole when it doesn't have a rocker breather and you pull 7k in a motorkhana, I can advise

i see on a uk forum a question about breathers using the dizzy hole, on ECu driven machines? rather than just a blanking plug... i would have thought not the best place , but still give credit for someone thinking outside the square/ or circle as it may be

Anyone ?

Depends on the manifold.
Redline or Warneford Weber manifolds have 2 tapped holes with plugs.
Threads in these are either 5/8 UNF (older manifolds) or 1/4 BSP (newer ones).

BMC factory single or twin SU manifolds if they have a plug already, are 5/8 UNF. As are Minispares single SU ones.

I use 1/4 BSP brass fittings from Pirtek. If fitting them to a 5/8 UNF threaded hole I use a 1/4 x 3/8 BSP reducing bush, turn the 3/8 BSP thread down to 5/8" dia and cut a 5/8 UNF thread on it with a die.

Anybody needs these 5/8 UNF x 1/4 BSP threaded reducing bushes, PM me and I'll make some up.

[edit] here's the Xmas tree of brass fittings on my now water heated Redline Weber manifold-
