Buy carbon fibre ones! Bonnet, boot, roof, front end, a panels, boot floor, parcel shelf, floor pans, bumpers, headlight rims etc are all available in carbon fibre

How do standard doors perform in side impacts? I'd be more concerned about adding an intrusion bar and looking elsewhere...

Pulled one of the door bins off today. (Couldn't help but get in the garage) Found some rust in the process.

Actually, rust is heavier than steel (burn some steel wool to FeO2 and weigh it if you don't believe me). It's the holes it leaves that is light..

That's why I suggested it may be illegal to cut up the doors, more so the Leyland mini doors built to comply with ADR's.
Ideally I'd like to fit a 6 point roll cage welded to the A, B and C pillars and incorporate very good side intrusion bars then I'd be happy to fit carbon fiber doors.

Then you'll need a helmet to drive to the shops!

For when you hit your head on the bit of pipe that is an inch away from it.

What is going to protect your head from the steel bars which are inches from your head when you do roll over?

This is the real reason why full roll cages are not road worthy in some states. Nothing to do with body integrity or strength

Properly built they can be roadworthy - but the rules are pretty tight these days.
