You can get these parts locally, but I used these guys in the UK last time because the parts are right there on the screen and easily ordered.

Yours will be the Lockheed 5 1/2. Don't order the parts without inspecting the chrome plated pushrod first, and avoid fiddling with the air valve if you have to, they're hideously expensive if broken.

Thanks Mick,

which is the air valve, is that the valve on the bottom with five phillips screw? If it is the the diaphraghm was full of brake fluid.

Yes it is that one, try not to tear that diaphragm as while the material is quite normal, it needs to have its particular centre pressed in which makes it a little expensive (40 pounds).

There's a cup shaped seal underneath the little piston the air valve sits on when its in place. This one goes directly into the cylinder and will be where the fluid is leaking from. Easy fixed once you get the little piston out.

If the main and air valve diaphragms are in good shape then you will just need a basic seal kit. Check the condition of the pushrod to see if the chrome has lifted. J&L have the replacements.

I had to use a grease gun to get mine out, it was rusted in place.

Thanks so much Mick for your help.

The rubber diaphragm in the vaccuum chamber has been effected by brake fluid. Should it be replaced ?

Its a little expensive, but easy to replace at the same time.

If it looks only cosmetic without any real damage I would make a judgement call to give it a go again.. My main diaphragm is still the original and works fine.
