Well, you will be pleased to know there are only about five road going cars an one race car left of around 25 to 30 built. Most we're built on 850's with a few Cooper and 'S'.
Whilst they are all a little different in build, I can tell yours is genuine and correct. There are a few big clues and others I won't mention on here. One big giveaway is the concave ramp angle of the windscreen wiper scuttle panel. It should be concave like yours, if it is a straight ramp and not concave, something is suspect. The other thing is the windscreen is a standard mini item and not a special piece of glass. The pipe work in the roof is also correct and yes the quality is not as flash as you would think!
It is a shame it is half de-seamed as you are a bit locked in there as it is hard to correct to original. The tail lights and indicators should also be standard items. Some of the big differences between cars are the rear window frames, some had full frames whilst others did not. The rear windows should be cut down glass with a Perspex rear window (some of the later cars are believed to be glass also). Most we're painted red, green or white. Often they were built from crashed cars. Stick your head under the top dash rail and you will see a large split, it is a good idea to spray some fish oil in there as they have a double scuttle panel. If it had the 'deluxe' dash etc, the wiper motor will be mounted inside the car in the dashboard area and not in the engine bay.
It is really great to see another, one day it would be great to do a photo shoot with them all together!
