Hey everyone,

Just after some advice on which way to go with needles in my mini.

Currently running GY and they were a bit lean mid range, have some borrowed Ms in there now and slightly better but still lean mid range (1800 - 2800rpm). It is fine just off of idle and from 3,000ish rpm up in both cases.

I have narrowed it down to DU, L or EQ with I think the EQ leading the charge for the next try <- open to suggestions on what to try next, even if it isn't on my list of possibilities.

Engine spec:
998+0.020"
ported 12G295 with biggest valves that'll fit
ported inlet manifold
Maniflow LCB
Twin HS2s with K&Ns

Thanks.

Thanks for that. I'll have a bit of a play and see what it comes up with.

depends on the position of the dashpot pistons - is it lean under load or gentle acceleration or???

Hey Simon, it's lean under both gentle acceleration and under hard accel. It is more noticeable under hard accel.

I've often found if the Ms are too lean, AH2 works fine.

Stick em into mintylamb site and have a look. 8)

Thanks for the help guys. The clutch in the brides car is haddit so I spent some time today getting the mini in top shape and whipped the needles out and spent some time with some sandpaper and the drill around stations 4-7 with blending 3 to 4 and 7 to 8. Must say it worked out superbly as I picked a few dimensions from a couple of the other needles people suggested and worked towards a blend of GY and an average of the others to get something that feels perfect everywhere and idles beautifully.
