Quick question about dash binnacle. It was my understanding that the early cooper 100mph dash had 4 screws holding the front on and didnt have the lines on it or extra indicator lenses. Is this Dash from a mini K or a later Cooper S? Am I also right in thinking the temperature gauge has been replaced and is not original?

Is it held in place with 6 screws? The 1970 K/S one on my kitchen bench has 6.
Amazing what you can find when you are forced to crawl under the house!

This is a photo of what is hidden behind the MK1 dash. They use the original single speedo housing and then 2 side brackets and then the oval backing plate.
The firewall is different on a Mini K and MK2 S as it has 2 extra captive nuts to screw the oval dash to it.
