Thanks for the link to the manual, I've booked marked it so hopefully now I won't have to ask so many questions lol.
I've found mini makeovers 1275 is not far from me, so that's handy to now too
Cheers
Hi Fusion07,
Personally I would stay well clear of 'Mini Makeover1275' from personal experience, and a few others on this forum. When I first got into minis I needed a new engine and thought they seemed good.
Since putting the Minimakeovers engine into my car (it was tuned corrently, and isn't driven hard)
* Oil leaks everywhere due to cheap gaskets being used
* blown head gasket due to a cheap head gasket being used
* engine has had to come out twice due to gearbox synchro issues
* on both new mini makeovers gearboxes 2nd continues to crunch
* 2nd and 3rd pop out of gear on slight downhills
* burns oil
* blows smoke
* broken valve springs!! due to cheap valve springs being used - the type of cam required more heavy duty springs due to valve acceleration (RE83)
This engine has done 4,000kms and is now already due for a rebuild! The engine hasn't been thrashed whatsoever and it is a disgrace that people can do business like this.
I'm sorry if I'm not allowed to say this on the forum, but this is all facts and I would be wary of recommending them to ANYONE.
Regards
James
