Awesome. And its in Brisvegas too! Tricky and I might have to come out for a sticky beek and provide collaborative support. Tricky for the doing, me for the visualising and creating more doing for Tricky.

thanks 73

im going to be using Metro Turbo Vented Brake conversion kit on the rear with 4 pot calpiers and adapted for the handbrake, adjustable lower arms on the top and bottom of the upright plus some coilover shocks. Up front will be the 4 pots supplied by zcars since im using their front subframe kit

cheers

Have you priced up getting one of their subframes over here?

Maybe we could do a "group buy" as I'm sure one of your kidneys has to be worth at least two frames. So you donate a kidney, get two front subframes and I'll buy one off you.

Also i nicked this from my proposal to the engineer explaing what it was

Quote:
The tubular front subframe from z-cars (Figure 1.1) is designed to eliminate bump steer. It is 10kg lighter than the original Mini front subframe and includes mounting points for the radiator and aluminum fuel tank (Figure 1.2). Included are inboard aluminum rose jointed adjustable shock absorbers which are operated by pushrod lever from the wishbones. Double wishbones again rose jointed and adjustable for caster and camber by means of left and right hand thread rose joints and connectors. The whole kit is powder coated and nickel plated on the metal parts. Also the kit fits the original mounting points at the top for the subframe and down near the driver and passengers feet. Instead of the original 2 bolt fixing, the subframe has a 10 bolt fixing adding to the stiffness of the subframe. It has an integral pedal adaptor (Figure 1.3) for the accelerator to enable the mounting of a straight throttle cable under the car from front to back and then pulling on the original cable through the bulkhead using he original Mini pedal. Under the radiator at the front is room for a dry cell battery to be fitted.

Zcars also make a front subframe for a series engines in the front that look pretty much the same and are good cause of the stiffness plus coilovers and eliminated bump steer.

All of this info i got from zcars.org.uk

cheers

I'm sure you[ve already though of it but be sure to tell them that you've got a mk1 mini (note the differentiation in the mounting).
