I have a disc brake hub with a stripped thread where the bottom ball joint screws on. Anyone successfully repaired one like this?

Not the balljoint pin Joe, the actual hub itself, where the big 1-1/2" inch nut screws down. Like Doc says, if that's stuffed the hub is stuffed...

Joe , two different things , you were talking about the end of the ball joint where the nut screws on weren't you ? Peter is talking about the thread on the hub where the ball joint cup screws onto . If the threads damaged on the hub the ball joint can seperate from the hub under load (read that as in a hard corner) and fold the wheel up under the guard so isn't worth fiddling with .

I figured it was toast. Just thought I would ask in case someone smarter than me had found a way to fix one.

Thanks for the confirmation.
